So I finally got an interview invite today from a program that I really want to go to. The problem is I already have other places scheduled and the only date that works for me is the end of January (which is the last date this particular program interviews). Is it a bad idea to interview at a place on the last date or does this not matter?

Is it a bad idea to interview at a place on the last date or does this not matter?

If you interview on the last date, you will be considered for a position. If you don't interview, you won't be. It's that simple.

A resident told me that it is a good idea to interview late at a place you really want to go; this way when they are finalizing the rank list they would remember you better as you will be fresh in their minds. I really don't think it would matter one way or other as they probably evaluate you right after interview and use the interview evals later when they rank you.
