When to register for USMLE 1

Hey guys, I am a MS II DO student. There are not too many people in my class taking the usmle's and my school offers no advising whatsoever concerning this exam. I plan on taking it in early to mid june. When should i register for it? Thanks!

Register for it as soon as you're 100% sure you want to take it. You'll have to pay the ~$420 fee at the time of registration.
At that time you'll designate the 3-month period in which you'd like to take the exam, then when you receive your orange ticket (a few weeks later) you can set the exact date.
