When to start applying to retail?

I am graduating in May 2014 and I know I want to work in retail for companies like Walgreens and CVS. I was just wondering when the right time to apply for these companies are? My school does not have a career fair so I am not sure how to apply. Has anyone heard of people having luck applying online at the company websites or through sites like Indeed? I work as an intern for walgreens right now, but I do not want to practice in that state so I guess I just dont know of who to contact...

I'm pretty sure walgreens has an interviewing process for their interns. They should gather the lot of you sometime for interviews to weed out the ones that they want and the ones that they don't want as pharmacists in the future. So basically, no need to apply to them, if they want you, they will come looking for you.
