When to start practicing reading comprehension?

I have about 3 weeks until my DAT and so far I've only been focusing on the sciences, PAT and QR. I haven't done any practice with RC other than in one practice test.

I consider myself to be fairly good at reading so is this section something I should heavily prepare for? I realize developing a plan that works for me is important (S+D, mapping, etc) so when do you guys recommend I start practicing RC? Thanks.

I think its a good time to start practicing since you are good at reading. I would start doing a full length practice test (Bio to QR) every other day, take it as if you are in a testing center.
This will give you time to review the science subject areas you are weak in as well as give you S+D & mapping practice.
