When to submit LOR's

I see conflicting information in various places on this. Some say only send LOR's with secondaries. Others advise to send LOr's to all schools applied to even before secondaries arrive. What is the real word on this?

i would tell you to do a search, but right now there is already a thread on this topic on page two of pre-allo. page two. from today. this is not to mention the countless other threads on this you would find with a search. do you think asking for the "real word" will somehow unlock a source of information heretofore hidden from threads asking this question? more important, do you think it will really matter if you wait until you submit your secondaries to submit your lors?

Check the school's website (or call the admissions office). Some schools tell you not submit LORs until requested.

Personally, I wouldn't submit them before I had received the secondary.

Each school has slightly different requirements -- who the letters are from, how many to send, etc. The subtle variations will boggle the mind.

Wait until you receive your secondary (with specific instructions) before you send them. But keep in mind that letter services take some time to send letters (my school was chronically behind) so you could request them sent before you finish the secondary.
