When to take MCAT for traditional student

Suppose one is done with prereqs at end of sophomore year.

Which would the ideal situation be? (Assume they will prepare accordingly)

A) study that summer and take it in late August/September with only prereqs done
B) Take physiology & biochem courses in fall of junior year and take MCAT after studying in winter
C) Take during app cycle while studying all of junior year


EDIT: Does answer change with 2014 MCAT vs 2015 MCAT?

I did a combination of both A and B, taking Physiology my first year, Biochem my second year, and studying for it during the summer after.
