when to take step 3?

I'm taking off a yr between medical school and residency to get an MPH at an Ivy League Institution. I'm interested in public health and I think the degree would help my application for a residency (psych). Should I go ahead a take Step 3 next year also? I'll probably have some down time and could fit it in this summer or over the winter break next year.
