Hi everyone! Few quick questions.

I’m a senior biology major at a state school. I am planning on applying this semester. My grades aren’t great, cum 3.5 and bcp/sci 3.4ish (if I can do well in my sci classes this semester). I want to have everything but my DAT scores submitted at the earliest possible date allowed by aadsas. But I’m not sure when the best time to take the DAT is, I was shooting for mid to late July, but it seems this may be to late with my average scores. However, I want plenty of time to study since I'm already taking a forced year off, I really need to do well so I can get in for 2009.

When would you recommend taking the DAT? Also when should I start studying? I am anxious to get started but I don’t want to waste my time by starting to early and just having to review it closer to the test, but at the same time I feel like repetition is better than not. Perhaps starting in Feb an hour every other day making flashcards and such for between classes and things. Then an hour every day in March, essentially doing the same thing. Up it to two in April, I dont know how much i can accomplish in May with finals. And then putting in full 8-10 hour days in June. Welcome to the ping pong game that is my mind🙄

First off: to is an infinitive particle too means also or more than enough.
Your stats are average, not low, so don't be hyper worried about the time issue. Be on time but not like crazy first second possible. I pretty much did the same thing except took it at the middle of June instead of the middle of July, I might recommend bumping it up to the end of June. Earlier is better and honestly after I'd been studying 8+ hours a day for a month I didn't feel like I was making a dent in my highly compressed brain full of knowledge. As far as the study plans go, sounds solid. Realistic and feasable. I just did the last month of solid study thing and I think starting slowly would've been better. That's it, oh yeah, and just take a break from DAT studying during finals and don't worry about it 'cause remember grades matter too.

 Right you are. Unfortunately grammar has never been a passion of mine. I don't feel that I am missing out too much in life. 😉

Thanks for the info, it helps set my mind at ease.

The DAT score doesn't take that long to get to the schools. It is the AADSAS that can slow you down. Make sure you submit your app as soon as you can. I'd say taking the DAT late June/early July will be best. Mid-July is not too bad. Most importantly take it when you feel prepared enough to do well. Your schedule loooks fine.

Took about 3 weeks for most schools to get my DAT score. That isn't quick.
