Assuming that I will be applying on the June 3rd cycle, when would be the best time to take the DAT? I guess my real question is, are you able to apply to dental school without having DAT results at the time of submitting the application (June 3rd)?

I am planning on taking it early January, but if it is possible to wait until the end of summer (possibly July or August), I think that would be better. Any input is greatly appreciated!

if you are capable of studying efficiently and taking it in january or feb, then i recommend to try and take it earlier just because its a bit of a hassle to apply without having the DAT scores.
can you apply without taking the DATs? ..yes, but it will delay you application a bit. Your main goal is to get your application out as early as possible. The app site AADSAS opens up june 3 I believe.

if you dont feel you are prepared by the date you wanted to take it, then put it off and make sure you leave yourself adequate time to study and do well. Doing well is more important than trying to get it done as early as possible. SO overall, if its possible to take the exam jan, DO IT. if its not enough time, take it 1 month after you semester ends( spring sem).
