When would be the best time to apply?

I know US med school applications start around the beginning of June but I want to redo my MCAT as my first try was not that good.

My GPA is 3.50 but my sGPA is higher - ~3.70. My first MCAT I ended up with a 25. My EC's are average. I'm thinking about writing the new MCAT around the beginning of July and my results will be released beginning or middle of August. When would be the best time to apply? As soon as the application cycle begins or should I wait until I get my results. I'm looking into lower tier MD.

You can submit your application to one school in June to make sure it gets verified - you do not need your MCAT score back to get the lengthy verification process started. You will mark on your primary that you intend to retake the MCAT. Then your application will be ready to send off to more schools immediately after receiving your new score (assuming it is a score you are ok with).
