I'm sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question, but I'm not finding very many colleges that have a clear list of courses they want for their program. I just finished my freshman year and was originally a Pre-Pharmacy student, but I've changed my direction and am now interested Physical Therapy. Does Physical Therapy have specific schools of its own or is it apart of med school? Do I need to obtain a BA in Sciences first?

If someone could explain to me how this works, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Ptcas.org. You will find all the information from prerequisite, GPA, GRE score, and etc. It is Its own thing and separate from med school. You don't need a BA in science. Good luck.

PT schools are separate from medical schools; however some of the same institutions have both medical ad PT programs. There are two places that you can go to find a list of PT programs. The first is a more popular option, PTCAS. It provides a list of PT schools, as well as the prereqs required by that institution, and the average GPA and GRE scores of the average accepted individual. It however is not all inclusive. A school has to decide that they want to participate in PTCAS' centralized application process to be listed, so there are some schools that are not on there.

The second option is to check out the APTA's PT school directory. This site lists every accredited program, and some that are pending accreditation. It also provides a list of prereqs needed for each institution under the "Admission" heading.

PTCAS has the prereqs listed when you go into each individual program. In addition I believe they will soon have a comparison chart available that will make it a little easier.
