This question was asked in the USMLE forum, but with no real answer. I have this disk of retired USMLE questions is this the same thing? It has two exams with 7 subjects on each exam. If this is not the shelfs, can anyone point me in the right direction so I can get a hold of the shelf exams.

I answered this question on another forum...I think it was a real answer.

Only your school can get the shelf exams. The content of these exams are closely guarded by the NBME and I doubt you could get the exams on your own.

Shelf exams / miniboards are subject exams (they have them for basic science and clinical rotations) that are published by the NBME and used by some schools as a tool for evaluation at the end of a class/rotation. They are composed of retired/rejected board questions.
