Hi all, lowly pre-med who just applied here, but was thinking, ever since I've been a kid (and yes, I used that exact wording in my PS 😉 ) I just figured I'd work in a hospital. No, sorry I don't have MedScape if this is the sort of thing that would be published there, but as someone interested in surgical specialties, is it a reasonable assumption that a hospital job is probable?

Most surgical specialties attach themselves to one or more hospitals for their ORs and then have a clinic as well. Some more independent groups/individuals will have their own ORs but this is usually only for high paying fields like cosmetic based plastics and is definitely not the norm.
