Where Do You Get Your Energy?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Although it may seem like working out is only adding to the hectic schedule, no matter how busy I am it seems that working out for an hour a day, even if its a bit of cardio, really helps me stay focused, relaxed, and full of energy. It makes me much more productive during the day, that 1-2 hours I lose at the gym are easily made up. The earlier in the day you do it, the better.

mountain dew white out, mountain dew code red, mountain dew baha blast, mountain dew classic, mountain dew voltage...etc

As a fellow mountain dew connoisseur, I appreciated this post. Especially, the inclusion of the rarely seen baha blast.👍

Consider trying a much healthier diet. Ever since I went Paleo I have way more energy.

1) Keep your sleep schedule as consistent and as close to "normal circadian rhythm" as possible. This means going to sleep when it's dark out and waking up when the sun is shining. Take a look at your upcoming week on your day off and try to eyeball when your "mandatory good sleep" will be. I know you're not supposed to be able to bank sleep, but I swear I it feels like I can.

2) Hydration

3) Excercise in the morning, even if it means a chunk out of your sleeping time. I occasionally eat breakfast and put my makeup on while sitting in traffic 😳 because it allows me time for a longer am workout.

4) Sex!!!!!! Not kidding! I'm much more tranquil and mentally organized, plus sleep tons better and can get by on far less sleep when I'm having lots of it! For some reason, my husband is a vigorous supporter of this mentality. In fact, he can't wait until the boards....LOL

1) Proper sleep
2) Healthy eating
3) Exercise - Morning works best for me, energy-wise.
4) Ample hydration - Body weight in lbs/2 ounces per day, supposedly.
5) Supplements/vitamins - I carry a B multivitamin in my car and l-carnitine for when I am particularly tired.
6) Learn to enjoy life - I heard a Buddhist proverb that said something to the extent of "you can wash the dishes to have clean dishes or you can wash the dishes to wash the dishes". The point is enjoy every bit of life even if you would normally say it sucks. A very hard philosophy to truly embrace but this one will serve you well throughout life. Still working on it myself! Won't necessarily give you energy but it will give you the willpower everyone else is talking about.
