ok, you know the adenohypophysis in the anterior pituitary produces 2 types of hormones, primary hormones and tropic hormones
kaplan says MSH is a tropic hormone, scaum says it's a primary hormone(page 292), wikipedia doesn't list it with the tropic hormones and has no information about primary hormones, so....is MSH a primary or tropic hormone?????

plz reply thanks

Intermediate lobe of pituitary secretes:
M SH (Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone).
Inducer: Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone Releasing Hormone (MSHRH)
Inhibitor: Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone – Releasing Inhibiting Factor (MSH-RIF).
Target: Melanocytes.
Effect: Melanin production.
