Where have all the med students gone?

I've noticed that the Allo forum is not frequented as much as the Pre-Allo one is. Why don't more med students post here? Is there no time? Is med school that exciting? Are you busy "playing doctor" with your SO's? Or are you just posting on other forums?

I'm hoping to continue to post here once I matriculate, but from what I've seen, I'm maintaining little hope... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

At least right now they are probably studying for the USMLE Step I. The rest of the time they're probably trying to catch up on their sleep.

I think the chances are good that they don't need a cyberforum to answer their questions when they're in med school. They just make friends with people in other years and get the information from them.

I have this all figured out. People only post often if they become neurotic with "the next step." That's why pre-allo and the Residency forum are so busy. There's really not much to post about when you're in med school. You just chill and study and start to worry before 3rd year....but then you just move over to the Residency & Rotation forum.

But I'll be posting here soon, so watch out! I'll get this forum going! 😀

That's funny about the neurotic thing. I'm neurotic all the time, so I guess that's why I'm always here. :wink: It's difficult to get med students interested in posting, I've shown this site to a few of my classmates and some of them post irregularly. Most of the med students that frequent this forum just post to answer people's questions, they don't mess around here like I do.

any time I'm in the mood to proscrastinate, I head straight to this site. I sucker myself into believing that I'm getting something productive done (which I am :wink: ) while putting off what I really need to do.

At least this is a site my mother would approve of 😛

That makes sense that they don't need as much support. I don't know any pre-meds in my neighborhood, but on this site I have met many.
