Hi,
I was wonering if someone might be able to help me identify some IM residency programs I should apply to. I've had some trouble in Medical School, however. I go to an average US Allopathic Medical School. With regards to Basic Sciences, I passed all my courses on the 1st try, though most grades were C's. The difficulty came with Step 1. I needed 3 attempts to pass and my successful score was 193 (79 on the 2-digit scale). I've completed some 3rd year Clerkships, with mainly C's. I have yet to begin my Medicine Clerkship. Please suggest some IM programs that you think might accept me. Also, what are my options if I do not match? How easy is it to find an IM spot in the scramble? Can I do a year of Preliminary Medicine and try to get in that way? Any other ways of getting into an IM program. Thanks a lot!
