where to begin with residency?

Just wondering if anyone out there can tell me where to start when researching different residency programs......did you go by word of mouth, or did you just search google for rads residencies???????

Start with FREIDA to get a basic overview and comparison of the various programs. Many of the profiles have web links that will direct you to the website of the given program. If that doesnt work a Google search will usually turn up the programs. At this point most programs dont have printed brochures but rely on their web pages.

- on a residency website

Be careful with information on residency websites. Often the information is hopelessly outdated if not deliberately misleadin. That top-notch neuroradiology department might have dissolved and gone into private practice years ago.

Yes, do the websearches, but try to find contacts within the hospital (like alumni of your school in other programs) who can give you the scoop on the residency.
