Where to find a research project abroad?

I didn't want to post this to the 'summer after first year' thread because I know what I want to do, but I don't know how to do it.

I want to combine research with vacation, and get the hell out of dodge.

Does anyone have any information or advice on finding a summer research project somewhere in Europe? I'm especially looking for one in the UK, or at least Western Europe. -Thanx

I'm sure this is something your Dean of Student Affairs (or similar) can help you with. You might try perusing the websites of European universities to see if their faculty do research in things that interest you. Usually, you just don't "find" a specific project, but instead you find people willing to take on a student. It helps if you know what you want to do and have a specific project in mind.
