Where would you guys rather go, ASDOH or USC or UoP?

I thought I wanted to go to USC, so I turned in my deposit, but after visiting ASDOH and experiencing faculty, facilities, environment, ASDOH seems a lot better.

What's great about USC, ASDOH, UoP? (Please refrain from just bashing on schools, but give objective pro's and con's please).

Thanks.

Not sure about the prices on any of them but all I know is there all not cheap and generally about the same within a few thousand dollars.

So what it would come down to in my opinion is where did you feel the most comfortable.

You said you like asdoh more than USC so in my opinion if the cost is about the same and you feel more comfortable at asdoh, why not go there right?
DId you visit uop? Whatd you think of that?

Edit:
Looking on predents, asdoh is about 50k cheaper total. If thats the place you like the most, all signs point to going there eh?

I would definitely talk to students who currently attend USC. I spoke to over 30 students who visited the hospital I worked at for rotation. Most of them had horrible opinions of the school. That effected me applying their.
On the other hand I have heard only wonderful things about UOP. I was accepted their and I can tell you every student I talked to loved the school.

I would research USC a little more. I havnt personally experienced anything negative from the school, but I do think student opinions are VERY important.
Hope this helps a little.

I've applied to all of these schools as well, and think that ASDOH would be by far the best opportunity...especially given the positive experience you had there. You already put your deposit in, but in the long run, your gut feeling gives you more reason to do something than a small sunk cost.

Good luck with your decision. As all of us pre-dents have experienced, it's important to go with your gut!

It it were me, out of those three, I would choose UoP. It would be awesome to be done with dental school in three years instead of four. UoP also provides one of the best clinical educations in the country. They also have one of the best reputations in the country. For me, the only downside would be the cost of living in California, which you would also get with USC.

My second choice would be ASDOH. They have some of the best facilities in the country, and Mesa is an awesome place, great people and very inexpensive to live. The downside to ASDOH for me is that they are heavily centered on Public Health and Service. I think that those two things are great, but if you are going into private practice, then that may not be the ideal situation.

Last of the three I woukd go to USC. They have a problem-based learning curriculum, which I've heard a lot of bad things about. Their tuition is some of the priciest in the country, and cost of living is horrendous. Like someone said above, many students have had negative experiences there, but on the other hand, lots of people go there and really enjoy it. You'll probbky end up with the most debt going here.

Have you been accepted to all three places? If so, congrats and good luck with your decision!

UoP hands down for me. Amazing faculty, admissions, and students. Everyone seems to be beeming with happiness or on some sort of high when I interviewed there. Personally, I think being in a world class city, SF, helps make UoP have that amazing happiness.

The only downside I would say for UoP is intense schedule as it is compacted in 3 years. That being said, you can specialize if you want. There are some sdn-ers who are uop graduates and go on to specialize. But as they say, you gotta work hard and have good time management to do so. I've put my deposit down for UoP so far.
