Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a place to write brief explanations about the application. For example, I am a postbac and unable to use HSEAC because I did not have all of my science prereqs done by the time they met. Is there a place I can explain this? I don't want the adcoms to think I was too lazy to do it or something.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Though your circumstances are certainly no less important, I think that most applicants have a little part of their record that they want to explain (I had a W for instance...lots of people have poor grades in a class they retake, something weird about a certain semester, personal situations, etc. etc.) For that reason, the application is designed to cover many aspects of your life and then offer the essay and the interview to provide the more subject, personal part.

For something as minor as that, I wouldn't take up space in your essay for it, which I think would be the only place for an "explanation." If you get a chance to write a secondary application or are invited to an interview, you could introduce the topic of "things I may have done differently about my undergrad/postgrad experiences." If it's never brought up, don't bother bringing attention to it. let the rest of your app speak for itself. Good luck! :luck:
