Hi everyone.
Didn’t know about Anki prior to sdn but now looking to download it for Mcat prep. There are more than a few Anki apps out there. Can I please get some recommendations. Thank you!

2.1 on pc, if you have iPhone just sync your anki to a web account and the anki web flashcards work well. Don’t pay 25 for that app. If on android app is free and works well.

Most iPhone users end up biting the bullet and getting the $25 app. It sucks but what is 3-4 coffees versus a chance to get more points on exams that will change your life (and career earnings by millions) in MCAT / STEP 1. Definitely get it on the PC as well, being able to synchronize is a great feature. I used to do heavy studying on the PC and then doing casual studying during downtime with my phone.

TL;DR - Anki is the Gold Standard for med school / MCAT memorization. Bite the pillow and buy it.

^ Would say only if Anki is something you like. There are plenty of medical school students who never have used anki and done well. One of my classmates scored a 268 on his STEP 1 without ever touching Anki. Overall, it's a good tool for many students looking for high scores in a fool-proof way.

I would agree with this. If you have an Android, it is risk-free. If you have an iPhone, try it on the PC and see if you like it before shelling out the $25.

Plenty of students get along just well without Anki, but spaced repetition is just so powerful I tell students to treat it like you would a Statin for HLD. Try it once and if it doesn't work, take a break and try it differently before calling it quits.
