My school offers Basic Biochemistry 360 as well as Biochemistry I 462. Does it matter which one I take next semester? The course descriptions are similar but will Adcoms care?

No, it's doubtful they will.

They don't care. The diff between the two, I'm pretty sure, is that Biochem 360 is a one-semester sequence and the Biochem I 462 is the first course of a two-semester sequence, in which case you would then have to take the second course in the sequence. There are pro's and con's of the one- vs. two-semester sequence, so decide for yourself if you would rather cram biochem in one semester (quicker, less in-depth) or take the full-year route (will probably be better preparation for medical school but will be more in-depth, and you might get annoyed with biochem by the end of the year).

If your school is like mine, the two-semester sequence course is mostly full of biochem majors while the one-semester sequence is mostly full of premeds.

They won't care - I didn't take biochem at all and did fine. Take the easier one... and at least at my school, you don't have to take the 2nd course of biochem if you don't want to.

Forget the adcoms. Are you in FL? Do you plan on applying to FL schools? FL schools require BCH 4624.

the only reasons to take biochem are because it's ur major, because it's required for graduation, or you really enjoy biochem classes.

Thanks everyone. I was looking to take the one semester course only becuase I thougt it would help in the future.

No, its not recquired, so I might opt for a different upper level science. Thanks for your thoughts.

Or gone absolutely awesome! I'd buy it.
