Hello, I am in love with golf. Which specialty will allow enough time for me to continue playing? Thanks!

any one as long as you want to make "less" money. if you open up your own practice, you dictate what days you work..... i'm still a little sore from yesterday. did a bucket worth of balls.. trying to get that driver down.GreekIsleSunset said:Hello, I am in love with golf. not as many women play golf.
If you arent totally sold on the premed thing, most of the dentists I know seem to not have to work a full 5 days a week, and play quite a bit of golf. Commercial bankers are also notorious for making it regularly to early tee times, but their incomes often aren't so stellar. In medicine, I suspect any of the above mentioned so called "lifestyle" specialties are still going to require you to kill yourself with long hours and awesome academic performance for years before you get to the point where the schedule gets easy (so best to plan on the senior tour if you go that route).GreekIsleSunset said:Hello, I am in love with golf. are any of you familiar with the lives of other docs or even those? I mean, I'm basically questioning you authority on the subject. We've heard a lot of things about different specialties but we don't know for a fact that derm is the best for golf. for example. my derm doc hasn't had a week day off for 7 years. so there's an example. let's hear it?
While you probably didn't mean anything by it, it is troubling that in your post you are distinguishing religions as "ethnicities". White includes a gamut of religions, including probably your friends dad.spotdiagnostics said:Example: Anesthesia
Friends Dad. Ethnicity: Jew. Age: late 40s. Salary $300,000+. 12 weeks vacation. Works 3 days a week. Group.
Example: Neurology
Friends Dad. Ethnicity: Indian. Age: mid 50s. Salary $400,000+. 3 weeks vacation. Works 4 days a week. Private Practice.
Example: Interventional Radiology / CT Surgery
Former boss. Ethnicity: White. Age: 40s?. Salary ?. Vacation. none.
Moral of the story. Often, you can make your own hours as a physician. # hours determines your salary.

eh, i know of some derms who work 8-5 or 8-4 mon-thurs. thats why it is unquestionably the most competitive specialtyvirilep said:Okay.... I have a question for all you people that have said derm, rads, or etc.
