I am applying to
CU, UCLA, USC, UOP, NYU, BU, Tufts, Baylor, Upenn, UMICH, Uconn

i dont know anyone who is a dental student, and the only information i can go by is the school visit, and the stats..which is not so important to me.

i want to know if it is a cooperative/competitive academic environment?
helpful faculty?
helpful alumni network?

i know this is all subjective but that is what i need to hear, a first hand experience to make the best decision. i do not have any preference as to which school i want to go to at all....rankings, reputation, location....as long as it is a great learning environment.

can you share your experiences?

thanX

You could probably find a ton of info by doing a search for any of these schools using the search tab. There's been a lot of discussion about the pros and cons of each.

First get accpeted to one of the schools then worry about the other things. Every school has some advantages and disadvantages. Good luck.

You learn only the basics in dental school and I mean basics. 90% of the skill and learning is post graduation. The main thing dental school teaches you is the terminology, basic procedures and the drive to learn more and how to use that information.

This is how you should pick a school:

1.) The place that accepts you
2.) If you are lucky and have more than one acceptance, pick the cheapest one!

Don’t give me this happiness factor because you will not be happy at ANY dental school. Every school from NYU to Nova is going to piss you off. You will be happy to be gone just because dental school in itself is so much pressure.

Definitely the best piece of advice I've seen in a while. 👍 😀
