Which DO schools are the most selective in giving out secondaries?

Secondaries? That would have to be CUSOM and maybe KCU. I don't know about Touro NY but RVU gives a secondary to anyone who meets their cutoffs which aren't as high as the above two schools. RVU is probably the most selective with giving out II
 
KCU def has a pretty stringent cutoff which right now is a 3.25 and I think a 24 equivalent on the new Mcat with a minimum in each section. There's obviously varying exceptions to the cutoff but that's few and far between for kcu.

From my app cycle, 6000 applied and I would ballpark about a little more than half of that received a secondary.

CUSOM for sure, I know people rejected before they even were given a secondary, and I was put on pre-secondary hold. VCOM held me for a secondary too. Weirdly enough, I got one from KCU + an interview so go figure.

Did you end up getting the VCOM secondary? It has been about 2.5 months since they sent me the review email. They said it could take up to 3 months so I'm wondering whether or not I should call them now or wait until its exactly 3 months?
 
Idk if RVU is selective in giving out secondaries, but they are VERY selective in giving out interviews. If you get a interview, there's a 75-80% chance you'll get in.

I was wondering that too and sent VCOM an email yesterday. They said "At this time you are still being reviewed for a possible secondary application. This process can take a while due to the amount of applicants."

P.S: Submitted super early like June

I actually never got one, but I withdrew my app before they gave me a final decision.

That's weird. VCOM sent me a secondary right when I got verified, and KCU a couple days later. I got an email from CUSOM saying that they received my primary application and are reviewing it.

I was verified mid July and they sent me an email a week later stating it could take "up to 3 months". This would make the 3rd week of October, the 3 month point for me.

My overall and science GPA is above their 3.2 "recommended" GPA and my MCAT is above their average. I am from CA so my ~60 L.M. coupled with the fact that I'm not from the East Coast might be why they haven't sent me anything yet. I do have quality EC's in addition to 200 hours shadowing 4 DO's and 1 MD.

I'm not too bummed. Currently, complete at 19 other schools and I have my first interview in 2 weeks. My OCD-ness just wants to complete this secondary so I can have an even 20 completed haha
 
Not sure about selectivity but western's secondary took the longest to get to me. I seriously thought they weren't going to send me one. KCU and Touro-NY both arrived as soon as they could be anticipated.

Same here. I'm still waiting on VCOM. I'm happy with LMU, but VCOM is a really good school and the area is better.

So when would you guys recommend I contact VCOM? Now or in 2 weeks? Since it has been 10 weeks already, it is likely that it will be a pre-secondary rejection?

Same here! I was verified on a Friday and received a secondary the following Monday. Not a huge fan of the questions on their secondary, but really hope to hear back from them soon!

Definitely CUSOM. I got a pre-secondary rejection last week. F you too, CUSOM! Thanks for taking my money.
 
CUSOM doesn't say it on their website, but they will not send secondaries to anyone who reports any sort of arrest history on AACOMAS.

One or two people on SDN have said that they got in with an arrest record, but when I called CUSOM admissions they emphatically stated that people with any kind of arrest record should not bother applying there.

I had a minor arrest from when I was 15 (not a conviction) and they told me that even though I met their cutoff, as a Christian school, they take any encounter with law enforcement "extremely seriously."

Weird. Have a secondary from CUSOM and II. But never heard anything from VCOM and rejected from RVU lol.

Pretty much everyone sends rejections by email.

Exceptions I know of include CCOM and the ATSUs who do snail mail rejections.

lol... I was completed 2 months before they rejected me. It's on portal too so I never received any emails or anything
 
Like @femmegoblue mentioned a bit ago, the only school I have had trouble getting a secondary from is VCOM. I applied in July, and checked in with them in August to see what was going on. They said it could be up to 3 months before I receive a secondary.

I got a secondary everywhere else I applied, so from my experience the VCOMs are the most stringent.
