I heard some anesthesiology residency programs don't allow transitional years. I'm applying in the East coast, esp. NYC programs. Anyone know which programs would rather take prelim-IM or surgical year rather than transitional years??? Thanks.

Since no one replied, can I just assume that all the programs are ok with you doing a transitional year? Anyone?

Dude,
every program allows transitional year to happen. Buddy of mine matched at SUNY downstate without a prelim year. He ended up scrambling into a transitional year.
