Which FAFSA do I need to submit?

Forgive my ignorance, as this is the first time I have had to deal with FAFSA. I am going to be entering medical school in the summer of 2007. The FAFSA website has a 2006-2007 application, which appears to cover the school year from June 2006 - July 2007.

Is this the correct FAFSA for me to submit to be considered for financial aid during my first year of medical school, or do I need to wait until the 2007-2008 FAFSA comes out? I'm confused because the website provides a July 2007 deadline for the submission of the 2006-2007 FAFSA.

Wait until after January 1st. The 2007-2008 should be available shortly. That is the one you will need to fill out. Good luck filling out the form. Best wishes and good luck in medical school. Congratulations!
