So if you want to do OMS, is it better to do a GPR or a OMS 1 year internship?
I heard that GPR looks better than 1 year internship.

I worked for an OS after undergrad. We had to bail out this dentist who did a 1 yr OS constantly. And the poor patients were suffering throuhg her lack of aptitude. From that experience, I would not do a 1 yr OS.OMFS2B said:This is a no-brainer, do the OMS 1 year-internship, you'll 10 times as much!
I think the question was about using a 1-year internship as a stepping stone into an oral surgery residency.chadDMD said:I worked for an OS after undergrad. Sometimes, but definately not always. If you do well then you have a good chance of staying there. If you suck then it's your kiss of death. It's like a year-long interview.simpledoc said:i always thought that once you do an internship/fellowship in a certain school, be it OS, endo, ortho or pros you pretty much get accepted the following year in the same schoolso that way, if you are so focussed on an OMFS residency, an internship is way better than a GPR
