I am currently looking at positions I can apply for at a hospital. This hospital has a research position I can apply for, though I know friends who research there only to do "statistical analyses of data". That position isn't really related to pharmacy, is it? I can also volunteer at the hospital meeting with families and encouraging them, etc. Of course, I am just speculating at the moment because it's not like I automatically get the positions if I apply. But which one would look better on my application to pharm schools? If I get the research assistant position at the research part of the hospital, it would be my only research done and I can at least say I did research. At the same time, it seems a little off the topic of pharmacy or health care, rather being math related. Volunteering at least gives me interactions with patients I might work with in the future, am I not right?

Honestly, both look good. Statistical analysis is an important skill for pharmacists to have, especially if you might decide in the future to pursue either a residency or a fellowship. Of course patient care is great as well. Do the one you like better.

I actually might go into a residency, who knows? I'll just send my resume to them next week and see what happens. Thanks
