Which is the hardest semester?

Hey guys!
I just wanted to know from upperclass people or graduated DVM's, which semester did you consider the hardest???
I finished my 1st semester and my grades are not great....passing!! but they could be better! :/ I just thought maybe it was because I was in a transition state and also didn't know my best way of studying.....but I think I've figured it out and I'm going to try it next semester...🙂
does this happen to people on thier first year or semester?? isn't the 2nd year the hardest?

You'd be better off asking people at your school, otherwies you'll get every answer under the sun.

It will vary by person and by school. But, I had a rough start too. You made it through, right? So brush yourself on and start the new semester off right.

I am a 2nd year, and I will say that academically, this semester has been, and probably will be, the hardest that I have had at this school.

That said, I still maintain, that last year (esp. first semester) was the hardest thing I've had to accomplish to date. Not only was the work challenging (say what you want.... but while, it isn't rocketscience, it IS neuroscience and the work here is just plain TOUGH.) It took me much longer to adjust to vet school than it seemed to take others. My personal life was a huge factor in my difficulty, and it made it that much harder in school. This year, I didn't have near as much stress in my personal life that was spilling over into my school stuff, so even though it was very tough school-wise, I wasn't juggling a bunch of non-school related issues as well.

Yes I made it through!! 🙂 ......I am just wondering what is ahead of me! because I certainly need to bring my grades up due to my interest in doing a residency once I'm done...

Depends on your school... and the residency you want... most of this you'll just have to machete your way through as everyone else has before you. It's impossible to say how one's experience will compare to another's.

What would vet school be without the well-meaning groundwork being laid by older classes, only to prepare you in no way for how you feel when you're actual going through it yourself??
