Which major to choose?

Hi,
I am currently in grade 12 and I'm contemplating between a Bio, Biochem, or Biomed major. Or do I choose Life Sciences?
I want to eventually become an optometrist.
I am applying to universities in Ontario, if that helps.
I'm not sure which one prepares me better for Optometry school, though.

Majors don't matter too much because you can apply to optometry school from any major as long as you finished all the pre-req courses. I'd choose one that interests you the most.

I recommend you to have bio-related major.
I will help you to build a strong foundation in sciences, and you will complete the pre-requisites within your major requirements.
Some optometry schools require more pre-requisite courses than others.
For example, anatomy and physiology with labs, or biochem and microbio.
With my major, molecular and cell biology, I didn't have to worry about them at all.
Plus, it will be easier to study OAT later.

So, look at the list of requirments for the majors that you are interested, and compare them with the pre-requisites for optometry schools. Try to pick the one that matches the most. As far as I know, Berkeley optometry has the longest list of pre-requisites. So it will be good if you can match with Berkely requirments.
