I think you can't go wrong with Cinci or OSU. I interviewed at both, and obviously am a bit biased towards cinci since it was my 1st choice and is where I am.
When you go on interviews, you will be able to tell which one is better suited for you. What is a strength to one person may be a weakness to others.
At cinci, I just feel like we get a very well balanced education. We get a ton of clinical experience, you will be in the OR right away as a 1st year next year, the didactic component is very strong, more full time faculty than many programs, good sedation experience (not IV though), interceptive ortho, and the most important thing which is residents that get along. Cinci does a really good job of choosing people who will work well as a team and at the end of the day that's what makes this program so good to me. Our clinical experience is unreal...my first day of clinic at the program (which was my first day here), I had a stack of 40 charts to review for hygiene for patients coming in the next day. As far as call, some people will consider it a disadvantage because we are in-house. For one thing, it's only 1st year. More importantly, I don't mind being in house because I've seen every possible type of dental injury many times over. Nothing phases me...I can walk in and have a patient holding #7 and 8 in their hands, have #9 intruded and luxated into their nasal cavity, gingival stripping etc etc and don't break a sweat. It's nice to have that type of confidence that only comes through experience.
I know when I leave here I will be fully prepared to walk into practice and hit the ground running.
