Is anyone studying from the old Hyperlearning books (prior to the recent changes?) I have the old Hyperlearning books from 2001 (from when I took the course in the past). Which chapters do I ignore for the new MCAT? Chapter 3 is all about alkenes and aromatic compounds so should I ignore all that?
The MCAT site says
Under the topics, "Hydrocarbons" and "Oxygen Containing Compounds," sub topics Alkenes, Benzene, Phenols, and Ethers will be deleted. Some questions may, however, refer to these sub topics. In such cases, relevant information on these sub topics will be provided.
So do I not have to know any reactions that involve alkenes????

It is entirely your choice, but I would not ignore the alkene, benzene, etc. stuff entirely...at least know some of it for the sake of familiarity in case it pops up on the MCAT...how much depends on how much time you have left and how much you have left to review....
good luck!
