I'm trying to decide which college I want to go to for pre-med. The two choices I have are University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) or University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). UMCP is generally harder to get into but I was just wondering which has a better pre-med program and higher acceptances. I know I won't get specific answers because not everybody lives in Maryland, but please try!

Thanks in advance!

It really doesn't matter where you go, most colleges don't offer pre-med as a major and if they do you shouldn't take it.

Major in whatever field you want to and base your school off which one has the best program for that major and is a school that you like. The school you go to really doesn't have much to do with medical school acceptances. All pre-med is the process in which you take the required medical school courses such as biology, chemistry, o-chem, physics, and english. These can be pretty much taken at any college.

In short, go to whichever school you like more and major in whatever interests you.

Since they are both fairly comparable schools, go to which ever you like most or if money is an issue, which ever will be cheaper. Ranking really only makes much of a difference if it is Sonoma state Versus UCLA, or something that drastic.

im at student at maryland som and we've got plenty of students from both college park and umbc.

they are very differently sized schools though. i would heavily consider that.
