I am coming to terms that my GPA is poop and been trying to organize and salvage my involvement and ECs for residency apications - I did a lot but is there realy ever enough ?
For the past year I been involved in working on this research project and most likely willl get a publication out of it as one of the co-authors. It's pretty cool - it's multidisciplinary, involves a team of practioners where I represent " pharmacy" and is clinical research that involves dealing with a particular patient population. If all goes well, besides publication, we will always make an online educational module to be distributed through schools around the country. The project will be over this spring.
For my graduation, I also have to do a research project as well. I don't have any time for it - there isn't like an assignmend block and I would have to do this on top of my rotations at night or on thr weekends.
My boyfriend suggested I talk with my current PI and either extend my topic or come up with a subtopic within the field - both are allowed by the school. I on the othet hand think it is a bad idea because my current PI is extremely busy, travels a lot and I think would be disasterous to have as PI if my graduation depended on it ( I heard of students not graduating on time and having to pay anothet quarters worth of tuition and living just to finishi the research). So I am thinking I want a PI for my graduation project to be the overly involved non-traveling type to make my own life easy.
I also think it would be good for residency to have two research projects under your belts
rather than one ? It's possible if I do a good job, I can aim for a publication for my graduatikn as well and I do have quality research type skills in my background, feel like I can perform to that level.
