I know that BRS Path is the book of all books for the USMLE Step 1 Pathology section review, but I was at Borders yesterday and picked up the Rapid Review Pathology book (white one) from the man himself... Dr. Goljan, and the book seems to be pretty well written with the right amount of information, very comparable to the BRS Path..... which one would you guys recommend to use more? I already have the BRS Path, I've used it several times and I love it.... Just pass down some advice.

Thanks in advance

*disclaimer* You should discount what I say for 2 reasons, 1) I'm biased since Goljan was my Prof, and 2) I'm a book ***** and collect more study books, texts, etc and have no qualms about spending money on books.

I like the RR book and carry it around with me in my 3rd year in my bag as a quick reference to use while studying for step 2, I like the layout and am familiar with the layout since it's very similar to the notes he hands out to us, and something else I’m finding is a big plus is the book will hold up under abuse. The only thing I dislike is the lack of pictures and that they are almost all black and white, and in fact, if anyone knows of a good atlas for more than derm and has lots of dermatologic manifestations of systemic diseases/etc, I'd appreciate a heads up.

So I'd say if you want it, get it. However, if you like BRS, and are familiar with BRS, there is nothing wrong with not using Goljan's RR as they are both highly recommended.
