there are other programs available.
for instance, skyscape products are very nice, easy to navigate, and allow you to link between each program with just a tap of your stylus (instead of backing out to the menu screen to find the other program). they are expensive however. I currently am using 5 min clinical consult, pocket medicine (you know the blue notebook all the interns carry around - it's on my palm), pocket surgery, 5 minute ortho, and stedman's medical dictionary.
the epocrates full version is very good from what I have heard (I have no experience using it) and students can get a nice discount if you look online (some have linked the discount code on SDN, search for it).
another site I really like is
http://www.meistermed.com/. first download iSilo to your palm and then you can download these meister documents as well. click around and you will find that they have good resources arranged by specialty (
http://www.meistermed.com/isilodepot/isilo_depot_index_subj.htm). the nice thing about this site is that most of the docs are FREE and the ones that aren't usually allow at least a trial period. this site will also show you how to turn any word documents you have into iSilo documents which typically take up less space than word docs on your palm and area easier to navigate than in documents to go.
finally I would suggest speaking with the librarians at your school. they typically have a good number of programs to offer that most students don't even consider.
good luck!
