Matching the PDA up with the laptop brand is completely insignificant.

This is a decision that more or less boils down to which one YOU like better. HP and Dell both offer comparable packages with comparable prices. I have a Dell (older) and I like it, not to mention I have not had much luck with HP support in the past. I feel Dell probably makes a better quality product, but that is more of my own opinion.

I guess that doesn't really help any.... basically you can't go wrong!

BTW if I had a chance to go back in time, i would SOOOO buy a Palm. I hate, HATE HATE HATE Windows Mobile. The Palm OS is so much better, and if you buy a "lifedrive" you can get a sweet palm pilot with 4 gigs built in. I know you want "uptodate" but there has to be some sort of similar palm software.

uptodate only comes in pocket pc

I would recommend the new Palm T/X. Not exactly what you asked - free advice is worth what it costs, eh?

It really comes down to personal preference.
