Hey guys!
I recently graduated from University of Michigan Ann Arbor. I've applied to these post-bac programs with the following stats:
uGPA: 3.32
sGPA: 2.96
MCAT: 20
Programs:
Drexel MSP (Accepted)
Wayne State BMS
North Carolina State MS in Physiology (Accepted)
Boston U MAMS
Case Western Reserve MS in Physiology
I know I need to improve both my gpa and mcat score. The only program that prepares for the MCAT is Drexel's MSP. Although I've taken a Princeton Review course, I don't think I'll be able to take the MCAT again before January 2015. So, I'll have to prepare for the new one, which the MSP program will provide me preparation for. Drexel's MSP also requires students to take 4 undergraduate sciences courses, which will directly improve my undergrad GPA (not too much, but at least I'll be retaking undergraduate orgo and physics 1 and 2). The rest of the programs offer graduate level courses. Since I don't have a strong MCAT score, I feel like it would benefit me to be in a pool of potential med school applicants who are also planning on retaking their MCAT (most Drexel MSP have an MCAT score between 17-22).
I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me advice on what to do at this point, especially people who've been in one of these programs or were/are in similar situations to mine. I'm not ready to give up on med school yet, but I want to make sure I'm making the right decisions. Thank you soooooo much!!!!
