Hey everyone,

I have a problem. I absolutely cant decide which school to attend...it is probably the hardest decision that I have ever had to make. basically, I have narrowed down my choices to NYU, NOVA and BU. I really liked NOVA alot, and NYU seemed good to me too. I keep hearing rumors about NYU so that is kinda gettin me cautious...but I absolutely love new york city. Plus I did like what I saw at the school, not to mention that some close friends of mine live in new york. These factors have really weighted me toward NYU.

However, NOVA's facilities were new and gorgeous, and it really seemed like a nice environment too. Plus it is about 100G cheaper than new york. These reasons make me lean towards nova.

BU is kinda iffy for me...i thought it was alrite, but to tell u the truth i dont know much about them. All that I remember was that the interview day was really informal (I didnt get to meet any of the staff...we just kinda sat there in a room for most of the day talking amongst each other.) But I hear BU has a good reputation, and Boston is a great city.

What should I do? Is it a bad decision to pick NYU more because of the environment? Does anyone have any personal comments about NOVA or the other ones? I would really appreciate the feedback. Plus, does anyone know which schools can give me a better opportunity for specializing in ortho (I want to keep it an option)? Thanks!

Well this is my opinion. Costwise BU is between NYU and NOVA. The school is great and the facilities are great too. As you may know Boston is a "student City" so you will be in a great environment.

I have been in boston and have friends going to BU, they say the curriculum is easy, and hardly anyone fails. And faculty are really helpfull. Considering the fact that all these three schools are private school.
Yet I got to see NOVA to be able to compare but from what people say on this board NOVA is great too.

Some people last year on this board where in the same shoes as you and some picked NYU over NOVA or BU over NYU. It all comes down to personal choices and priorities, see what is more important to you and decide accordingly.
Good Luck

Boston has the great science museum, with lots of cool stuff in the city. Go look at folks at harvard and mit is fun enough
Nova if you don't like the snow and like beach lifestyle. But I think personally it will be hard to sit down and study in that gorgeous weather and beautiful beach
NYU is out of the story for me

😎

hmmm

from what i hear Nova isn't even accredited(?), you might want to check up on that (i'm not sure...just a rumor maybe)

BU... i hear good and bad...(just like any other school)

NYU...same as above...

about living in NY...
i don't know where you're from (but probably not Ca like me since none of your choices are of Ca schools)...
if there's ONE reason that makes me wish I wasn't at columbia...it's this INSANELY horrible NY weather! (Maybe you like to be a popsicle....or a sweat machine in the summer) But other than that living in NYC is great...and if you're at NYU you're in the CENTER of EVERYTHING. I know that this isn't the MOST signifcant thing...but one of the first things we learned about SAD (i forgot what it stands for...seasonal something disorder/disease) where you get depress cause it's cold and little sun etc etc...

sorry for going on and on about this... I still love Columbia and still love living in NYC and am enjoying every second of not being lectured too =P

NOVA, I will always regret not going there. If PENN rejected me I would be at NOVA and partying in little havana every day with Damian and Voozhead.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. It'll be a tough decision, but I will figure it out eventually. Good luck to you guys as well 🙂
