Which schools require a wallet photograph?

I'm glad I called NYU, i didn't know they require a wallet photograph, it wasn't on their websites.

Any other schools besides BU and NYU require a wallet sized picture?

For those applying to Michigan dental schools, Mich and UDM require 2x2 photo ID's.

It is my sense that they want them so that they can remember the applicants when it comes time to meet in committee and choose the class. Everybody looks so similiar on paper and when you are dealing with 200 applicants, you probably could use any help possible.

BTW, Nebraska and Creighton both require photos too.

You can send any picture, but it would probably leave a better impression if you sent a formal one. I wore a Blue button-up shirt and a tie and I smiled in the picture... obviously don't make it a cheesy smile, but a friendly picture is probably better than a mug shot.

The picture is so the app committee can sit down and say:

"He's white and pretty ugly, no."

"Whoa! She is hot! Yes."

I just sent my secondary stuff to BU and I forgot to print my name on my pic. Is that okay?

You should call them and let them know. You know how things can get lost if there is no name on them... It shouldn't be a huge deal... someone will probably write it on there for you or, at worst, you might have to send another picture if they can't find yours.

I think the picture is to weed out the undesirables. Some people have the brains but it takes a pretty smile to attract the patients too. Usually, this is what interviews are for but the picture gives them an early heads up as to what to expect.

It's kind of like how Chinese business schools have a minimum height requirement. Their graduates need to command respect in the real world, in this case, garnered by height.

Some of the schools don't even have this requirement on their website, they only ask for it when you call them. Don't forget your pics! It would suck if your application is not complete until you send in your picture, but thats usually not the case, but just IN CASE..the school is really anal about it. 🙂
