Which SMP is best for a potential MCAT taker? I think the best thing would be to consider is schedule (free time), the courses taught, and prep courses for (MCAT) available. I'm trying to decide between the following programs to rank, at which might be most beneficial for MCAT prep.

Tufts SMP
Boston U SMP
Tulane Pharm SMP
UPENN post-bac

Right now, I'm thinking Tufts b/c it offers a PR prep, but I'm scared that the schedule there won't allow for adequate studying time and UPENN post-bac, just because the schedule will not be nearly as demanding as the SMPs.....

does anyone have any comments on this esp. BU vs Tufts...I have heard that so many Tufts students had drastic improvements. Any former BU students that could comment?

Drexel MSP is designed for MCAT improvement.

I believe (and its just my observation) that most SMPs require the MCAT to be done prior to entering the program. I would figure it would be the post-bac that are more geared towards the basic sciences and MCAT preparation.

That is definitely true in principle, but that does not mean that a lot of peoples MCAT can't benefit from an SMEP. If you have a moderately competitive score and want to improve it, I think SMEPs can help.

I have commented previously how the Tufts students saw great improvement, mostly people with previous scores of 28-31. I personally went from 31 to 36. Most of the June 13th people also saw nice improvements. To add to the previous people I talked about, I had friends on the June 13th go from 28-->32, 29-->35, and 30-->33. The program at Tufts is not focused on improving your MCAT like some of the others, but it has certainly seemed to help a lot of people who wanted to boost their score to make them more competitive in the application process.
