I am trying to decide between attending Regis or Midwestern Chicago.

I have a list of pros and cons of each school and am curious to see what other people would do.

The biggest cons for Regis are that they consider me as an undergrad for the 1st year and I would have to take out private loans and the fact that they are not accredited yet.

The biggest con of Midwestern for me is the higher cost of living there.

Can anyone offer some insight into both schools?

I think that about answers your question. Digging a hole that deep with private loans and not being able to pay it off for 4+ years is a near death sentence financially. Even out of state tuition with financial aid would be better than that alternative. Not to mention its a very, very new school.

Thanks for your response.

I have received a response from the financial aid person at Regis and I would only be able to take out $12,500 annually for financial aid which could be reduced and tuition alone for two semesters is almost $40,000 so I'm certain I will be attending Midwestern.

No problem, even without knowing your whole situation I would bet that Midwestern will be much better in terms of program quality and affordability. 40k... I toured Regis when I was staying there for a program and it is a beautiful campus but goodness their tuition is high in all their programs.

Good luck with all your future endeavors, Midwestern should serve you well but it couldn't hurt to confirm how much of a stipend they give you from fianancial aid since this will almost definitely cover most of the living costs (and even if it doesn't that's better than the 40K+living expenses-12K at regis). 👍
