usually, when are white coat ceremonies held? I thought they are genereally the weekend before classes begin but not sure (?)

well thats why i said generally

At Pacific it will be held for the Class of 2010 (current second years) on May 12th, which is 10 days after finals for spring semester.

2nd years have their white coat ceremony mid-February at Indiana University, after they pass their competency and are "ready" to enter clinic.

I know that at ICO they have their ceremony in the first few weeks of school. The tour guy told me on the day of my interview

SCCO holds theirs I think within the first month from when school starts? I forget exactly.

I'm sorry, I know this is a dumb question but can someone tell me what exactly a white coat ceremony is?

hahah... no i dont think they can make it 'mandatory' but you better have a damn good excuse when dean voorhees calls you into her office to yell at you for not going! 🙂
