who are my interviewers?

so i have a question i should probably know by now, but i don't...

some of my interviewers for my upcoming interview are on the mstp board, which one might expect. the other two (1 faculty and 1 student) are in the same general field but not the same specific field. do the professors interviewing us have specific interest in having us in their lab, or are they just a professor who offers to interview candidates?

Pretty much, no and yes, perspectively.

Make sure you know your research, and you can explain it to the people outside your field.

Also, don't worry if you don't want to do research that you've done so far - MD/PhD programs are looking for research potential, not accomplishments in a specific field (this can be quite different from a typical PhD program).
