I was curious as to which specialty of residency experiences the highest dropout rate. In other words, which specialty graduates the smallest percentage of the residents who started the program? How about the highest? Thanks

A brief review of MEDLINE doesn't yield a meta-analysis of such but it appears that the highest attrition rates are to be found in surgery (especially for females and IMGs) and the lowest in OB-Gyn and FP.

The studies aren't comparable and I didn't find any on Rads, Anesth, etc. ("lifestyle friendly" fields) so take this information with a grain of salt...
