A lot of the online examples have “dear xyz” in there but I’m not entirely sure who to address it to. The financial aid office? General admissions? I’m also not sure who to send it to. It also sucks cause my school doesn’t respond to emails or phone calls so I can’t find out from them. My plan right now is to just send it via the general admissions email and start with a “Hello,” but that seems very general

It depends on whether you are doing a scholarship negotiating or if you are asking for a higher loan allowance.

I’m basically asking if there’s any more merit/need based Scholarships that I would qualify for

Admissions is usually in charge of scholarships so you’ll probably have to email them.
So should I address it to them as “dear admissions” ?

Is there a difference between admissions and the admissions committee here? Does the committee also decide scholarships?

In retrospect this would’ve been a good idea. I took the other guys idea of ‘to whom it may concern’ since I wasn’t given any other info

The dean of admissions may not necessarily be the one to read the letter.

Either way, no ones gonna turn down your request just cause you said “To whom it may concern”. If you get stressed over little things then you’ll wear yourself down faster than Justin Bieber’s peak career.

Lol you’re right. Chance of this working is pretty low anyway haha. No use in over stressing myself

Off topic but I was very stressed over this when I wrote my update letter, and it did NOT feel good.
