Ok, So I'm looking at my credit card balance and lets say its a little depressing. Just wondering how much money other people have spent so far on this whole dental school application process. so fill the following if you wish:

ok, i am anal. I wrote down every stamp I used, every application fee, and every transcript etc.. to the penny. I did this since i spent a ton last year, and had no clue how much i spent. Its not much, i only applied to 5 schools, all in the midwest. Exactly $811.85

I spent about 6K. I applied to 15 schools and went to 10 interviews.

Here are my numbers!

9 schools with AADSAS: $465.00
Indiv. school app. fees: $365 total for 8 schools
2 DAT Testings: $320.00 ($160 each)
Additional 9 DAT transcripts (between the two DATs): $90.00 ($10.00 each)
Kaplan DAT course: $900.00
Air fare: Temple - $240.00, Nova - $240.00
Other DAT studying materials: $300.00

Total = $2600.00 thus far

I know that I won't win this contest, but wow, they sure do add up!!!

I myself spent roughly $4200. Its amazing how they add up. So far Bruin2k has the lead with a smacking 6k!! How are you guys planing on paying this before school starts?

I paid about 6.5K as I applied to 24 schools, and went on for interview in 7 till now, and will be going to 2 more.

Wow, I don't feel that bad anymore. I spent about 2 thousand last year and 3 thousand this year. Total of about 5 thousand. Most is on the card, with the new rear diff for the car and the new bearings (same car). My family has helped a little with gifts, but most is coming from me working about 12 hours a day, including weekends. I tell my family that if they want better christmass gifts they better make sure that I get through school! <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

funny, I was just thinking about this the other day too...

My estimates:
Kaplan DAT: $900
Application fees (15 schools): about $900
Interview costs (10, but stayed w/friends in some cities, combined some trips): about $2800

So about $4600 I guess? Wow...I'm not sure I wanted to know that... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
