I haven't got the mail from Loyola yet.

Anyone else with me? Or am I alone 🙁

Loyola, show me some love.

i'm in that boat...
16 secondaries (incl. a few that screen) but no loyola

No Loyola but I didn't expect them to screen this quickly.

(Submitted 7/7, verified 7/19)

I haven't heard from them and I was processed on 6/14.

Last time I applied to loyola, they gave 2 weeks to return their secondary. It's fine with me that they haven't sent anything out since I need more time to get my LORs set up

no loyola for me either....but i still havent taken the mcat so hopefully theyll show me some love in a couple of months....

No Loyola yet for me either. Processed 6-16

No loyola for me either, but I'm retaking the MCAT. I was processed on 7/8/04

*little tear* no loyola for me either. glad im not alone!!

no loyola either...its okay, i got my hands full with other secondaries, esp. rush... +pissed+

Where's Loyola???

It ain't on my pile.... yet...

Jason

i guess i'm one of the few to hear from them yet. as such, i'll post their essay questions for my fellow SDNers:

1. What do you consider a valuable experience in your personal development? This might be a decision you have made, an achievement of which you are particularly proud, or a person who has influenced your life.

2. Describe briefly how you have dealt with a personal or academic problem you have encountered.

3. How did you reach your decision to enter medicine? Describe your participation in any health care or other activities which reinforced your decision.

4. What self-education, research, or independent scholastic work have you undertaken and what do you feel you have accomplished in this work?

5. If you will not be enrolled as a full-time student during the current academic year, please explain what you will be doing prior to your planned matriculation into medical school.

6. Please use this space to bring the information contained on your AMCAS application up-to-date. Indicate grades earned, alterations in your proposed course work or graduation date, address changes, additions to your list of activities, and anything else you feel we should know.

Btw, the max limit is 25 lines for each essay. Gluck. I'm sure all of you will hear soon.

Yeah. No Loyola for me still. Grr!!

you can just type, "refer to personal statement" This was the first time I copied and pasted...but the questions were the same as some others, except the first was a little different than the U of chicago question.

Does anyone know what percentage get asked to interview after the screen? I was under the impression they screen out a lot of people.

i guess i need to check my mail more frequently... the loyola postmark was 7/27 and the due date is 8/26/04....

somewhere in the letter it says ~15% get invited for interviews...

Got Loyola today... Didn't get screened out... 🙂

I have a question about the LOR requirement.....the instructions say if you don't have a pre-med committee, just send three letters, 2 of which must be from science faculty - doesn't specify the last one. But the checklist has two science and 1 non-science. Is a non-science letter required?

kinda...However, u can use recommendation letter from someone where u volunteered.

Hey no loyola for me yet ( gasph, faint crying), I was wondering is it also by email or does it actually come in the mail?

I haven't got mine either. don't worry.

I think its my last name. Starts w/ one the last alphabets. I have got many of my secondaries after everyone else.

i just got mine yesterday, i think they're just takin it slow, don't worry, i'm sure it will come 🙂
and it comes via snail mail, not email

i'm taking the august mcat and loyola sent me a card today saying the committee will review me in October -- once the scores are out.

Yesterday 7/31 I received a letter from Loyola via snail mail stating that on my AMCAS I indicated that I am in an advanced degree program. They wanted to make me aware that I must graduate from that program prior to matriculation (if I'm so lucky) to Loyola. However, no secondaray. Kind of strange, do you all agree?

I wouldn't worry too much just yet. I didn't get my secondary from Loyola right away and I didn't interview until 3 months after getting my secondary in. Also, I think that things will probably pick up now that our orientation is over.

Good luck to you guys and feel free to PM me if you have any questions along the way.

Laurie

I haven't either, but I just submitted AMCAS two days ago and my transcripts aren't there yet. Does anyone know if it really takes 4-6 weeks for them to process them? Anyway, I know I am behind.

I recieved a secondary on 7/31 from them. Its long! For those of you that got it...how long will you be making your essays?

i'm recycling bits and pieces of other essays so i'm probably gonna use all 25 lines.

they did write though that if anything is already covered on your amcas essay, just note that.

Thanks. Sorry for asking this again, but do they screen before sending out secondaries?

Still nothing man! 🙁

try to stay patient - as you've heard, loyola takes a while. last year i did not get the application until at least 2 weeks or more after submitting my last secondary. it doesn't seem like the screen is too picky anyway. i wouldn't get worried yet. good luck.

I just got the loyola secondary today! I was processed on 7/25 I believe. Good luck everyone. My due date is Sep 13 or something.

I got mine last week, with 9/9 due date.

Remember that they screen too...........

I was processed on 7/29.

At least Loyola gives you a workable due date. I wish I could say the same for Northwestern and their deadline for Recommendations.

could someone PM me about it...thanks

Yup, they only give two weeks to return it. I need to finish the secondary by 9/2. Don't fret. They just started sending them out.
